Academic

The school has a proud academic record and is committed to staying abreast of the latest educational developments and providing education that is of international standing. The school offers a curriculum based on Cambridge University International Examinations and is a fully registered centre for examinations and courses offered by this internationally renowned institution.

In Form Three the pupils begin the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) course, which is a two-year course with a final external examination written at the end of Form Four.

After Form Four the pupils have an option of continuing the Advanced Subsidiary (AS Level) course, which is a one-year course, or the Advanced Level (A Level) course, which is an additional two years.

The range of subjects that the pupils may choose from is provided on the following page.  All subjects are compulsory in Form One and Two although some are not examined.  When the pupil enters the IGCSE course in Form Three he or she must choose eight subjects according to certain groupings.  These groupings of subjects will be explained in a separate circular when the pupil is in Form Two and ready to make the necessary subject choice for Form Three.

The content and options available with regard to the curriculum offered by the school are re-evaluated on an annual basis and, if necessary, modifications made to ensure that pupils may choose from as wide a variety of subjects as possible.
