The school follows a seven-day cycle with eight forty minute periods per day. The school day begins promptly at 7:25, with pupils reporting to their base classes for registration, and ends at 13:15 with a break of 25minutes from 10:10 to 10:35. The Form Six classes may have afternoon lessons in some subjects as per arrangement with their teachers. The extra-mural activities programme is issued to all pupils during the first few days of term with activities generally beginning at 14:15.
The library is open each afternoon from Monday to Thursday and a teacher-supervised classroom is set aside for pupils as a homework and study venue every afternoon of the week, except Friday. Pupils are expected to make use of this facility and are not allowed to be at school in the afternoons unless involved in an extra-mural activity or making use of the library or study venue.
